El Mezcal is the very first producer group we ever worked directly with, and our relationship goes back to 2020. These eight growers from the highlands of Jaltenango, Chiapas—on El Cerro de la Atarraya—live and breathe coffee. Their connection to the land and the craft runs deep.
Over the years, we’ve grown together. We’ve had the privilege of supporting their efforts to improve quality through training in cultivation, processing, and tasting.
Their coffee continues to impress us—and our customers. Every year, it delivers vibrant clarity and sweetness, and every cup is a reminder of the trust and commitment we’ve built together.
In addition to producing exceptional coffee, the team at El Mezcal is deeply committed to their community. On the farm, they run a school project that gives children of farm workers a safe, supportive space to learn, play, and grow while their parents work.
They also created ICHTHUS, a local school in Chiapas dedicated to providing free, quality education rooted in the values of honesty, service, and love. We’re proud to support these efforts—because great coffee should go hand in hand with meaningful impact.
